In my 10 years of photographing weddings, my offbeat clients have always been my favorite. When you buck tradition in favor of authenticity, wonderful things can happen—and I love being there to capture the beauty of those moments.

I am proud of the diversity you will see in my portfolio. Love brings together a kaleidoscope of different people with varied backgrounds and experiences. My goal is to provide kick-ass wedding photography to everyone on that spectrum.

How I cater to Offbeat Brides

For starters, I'm offbeat myself! I’ve spent a lot of time in the queer performer community. My wife is a derby girl, so when I'm not shooting weddings, you’re likely to find me out at a roller derby game or after party.

Being queer — in all senses of the word — it’s easy for me to cater not just to LGBTQ folks but to all of my offbeat clients. I understand the significance of using gender-inclusive language in all of my correspondences and documents. I understand that you may want both of your parents walking you down the aisle — or that you may want to dance down the aisle on your own! Rather than trying to fit my clients into a prescribed mold, I mold my style to fit them.

"If we could give Laura 10 stars, we absolutely would! From the moment we initially met for a consultation with Laura last year, we've felt completely at ease, in good hands, and without doubt that our photos would exceed expectations (and they did!). Laura goes out of her way to connect with you on a personal level, and you feel completely in your comfort zone/relaxed on your big day." – Kate M.
