I am an extremely upbeat, happy, and fun-loving person, and I bring all of this energy and flow to your wedding photography experience. From the beginning we work closely together to make sure your vision and my vision are synced up, and I'm happy to say that nearly all of my wedding couples become real friends down the road. Nothing makes me happier than getting to know the two of you in the months leading up to your wedding and then celebrating the big day in such a special, important way.
My work is color-focused and real: I don't force you into awkward poses, and I'm not about to take over your wedding day with my own ideas about what it should look like. My process is very organic, and while I make sure to capture the details of the day and all of your family snaps, the photos that tend to be favorites are the ones that were taken when you didn't even realize I was there. I'm a pro at helping you be at ease during your photos and also a little Harry Potter-esque in my ability to seemingly disappear at a reception but still get all the shots you wanted — and I don't even have an Invisibility Cloak.
Weddings in Oregon are $1600 and Washington shindigs are $1800, and weddings in the rest of the US begin at $2500. All packages include full day coverage, an engagement session, photo rights, and a USB of the full-sized, edited photos. After paying your 25% deposit, you can pay in installments or in full, check or credit card.
Special note: I will be living in London (England) between October 20, 2014 and August 31, 2015 while my husband completes a degree. I'm totally open to shooting UK weddings, and would love to chat! Rates begin at ₤700.
While I'm based in Portland, I will travel pretty much anywhere. Seriously.
Stephanie was great with communication from start to finish. Our wedding was in San Diego, CA and Stephanie is in Portland, so the communication went a long way in assuring us that she was part of the process. Stephanie was with us the entire wedding weekend and definitely worked without much oversight, which was wonderful. After the wedding, she maintained contact and gave use timelines on when to expect the photos. She gave us a link for viewing less than 2 weeks after the wedding! We love the pictures and really felt like she was a positive part of the day – very professional, great pictures, and just a very warm person. She has a very organic style, so if there are shots (that are less common) that you are really hoping for, make sure to write them down for her before hand. We highly recommend her! — Alix
How I cater to Offbeat Brides
I was an Empire editor from 2010 to 2014 and you are my people. No wedding is too hippie, nerdy, geeky, small, big, loud, quiet, monochromatic, colorful — I'm down for just about anything. I'm way into Star Wars and would fall head over heels for a couple who dressed as Han and Leia (or Luke and Han? I'm not picky!), and I'm really holding out for an ice cream bar reception at a wedding.
Examples of my work

- Piranha plants and comic books at Peace Arch Park
- A sweet and sunflowery Washington wedding
- Paint your ring fingernail for your "something blue"
- Take photos with the faces of far-flung guests
