Modern Ketubah creates works of art that celebrate your wedding through the beautiful nature photography of Daniel Sroka. We specialize in ketubahs for couples from all religions and cultures, including interfaith, Jewish, multicultural and same-sex.

Never heard of a ketubah? A ketubah is a marriage certificate that's also a work of art. You often sign the ketubah during your ceremony, and then display in your home as a daily reminder of your wedding day. Unlike the reception, the cake, flowers, band, etc., the ketubah is one of the few parts of your wedding that actually lasts beyond the day itself. It started as a Jewish tradition, but the ketubah has become increasingly popular with couples from all backgrounds. The problem is that most ketubahs are based on Jewish symbolism, or are (to be blunt) rather old fashioned and traditional looking. That's where I come in. In the traditional world of ketubahs, mine are decidedly different!

I create ketubahs that are both beautiful enough to display in a modern home, and have meaning for couples from all different backgrounds and cultures. Instead of old, cliched images, I create ketubahs from my fine art abstract photography of flowers, leaves and seeds — modern images of life that are symbolic for any kind of wedding ceremony. I have also written texts that reflect contemporary ideas of love and marriage.

"I searched extensively for a ketubah that was fresh and more modern than the traditional designs, and yours were the only ones that fit our style. And for something that will become a permanent part of our home, that is very important!" -Alisa and Alexander, Brooklyn

How I cater to Offbeat Brides

Modern Ketubah is for

  • brides and grooms who love the idea of the ketubah, but don't want something that looks so traditional.
  • couples who like to work with an independent artist, instead of just buying through a mega-store.
  • art lovers, who want a personalized work of art that celebrates their love.
  • couples who aren't afraid to mix up traditions, to create their own idea of what a wedding can be.
