Madres Kitchen

Madres Kitchen is dedicated to delicious foods prepared fresh daily and a fun approach to catering that clients continually rave about. Entrepreneurial moms, Heather Chitty, Marci West, and Kristen Cole are as delightful as their food. Best of all, they do it with organic, locally-produced ingredients that are both healthy and tasty. Madres benefits from the bounty of fresh food grown and raised in the Pacific Northwest and a network of farmers and sustainable businesses. Madres Kitchen is a full service catering and events company. From weddings, corporate events, parties big or small…we can do it all!

FARM-TO-TABLE

We work directly with Seattle Tilth and the Food Hub at 21 Acres for farm fresh produce. These relationships allow us to provide you with a wide range of seasonal fruits and veggies from Bow Hill Blueberries, 21 Acres Farm, Maltby Produce Markets/Marshland Orchards, Ralph's Greenhouse, Osprey Hill Farm, Seattle Tilth Farm Works and more. By staying away from the large produce companies and distributors, we not only give more to local farms, but also get to know the farmers personally. Not only does this ensure that the food you get is the best quality, ripe when picked and sourced within an hour of our commercial kitchen in Seattle, but also means that we are supporting farmers and producers who work and live in our community.

MADE IN HOUSE

You love the amazing, flavorful cashew-lemon sauce on our pasta and the fresh, zesty dressing on our salads? Yep, we made it. The chimichurri on your flank steak and the pear chutney on your risotto cake? We made that too. From fresh baked, organic scones at your breakfast meeting to the desserts on your menu. All made in house!

COMMITED TO COMPOST

Our kitchen is always stocked with bins to separate compost from recycling from landfill waste. We take time to consider where our trim ends up, and are happy to supply compost bags and bins at your event. Going the disposable route? Sometimes the event you are hosting is more smoothly run with to-go packaging or service ware. Our to-go flatware, plates, napkins, cold cups, …. are all compostable.

How I cater to Offbeat Brides

It never feels like work to us at Madres Kitchen. Our small team is all smiles, but don't let our good time and fun fool you. While we are laid back and easy to work with, we also work hard, are organized, personable, and most of all, we know how to make some damn good food!

"Madres recently catered a reception for me and did a wonderful job. Kristen was very helpful throughout the planning process and very responsive to my many emails. We had a pretty casual event of around 50 people with heavy apps and a bartender. We were able to provide our own alcohol and they also let us bring in our own cheese plate and dessert, which was super helpful since we had a small budget. All the food that Madres catered was delicious and I got lots of compliments from my guests. My event was near the stadium and there happened to be a concert scheduled the same evening – so it was basically mayhem and parking was scarce. The Madres staff (Pedro and Erica) acted like it was no biggie and just went with the flow. Their professionalism truly helped me keep my calm throughout the night. I'd highly recommend Madres to others."

"I cannot say enough about Madres Kitchen. They catered my daughters wedding recently and everything was beyond perfect. It was an all day event so they catered lunch and dinner for more than 60 people at a resort on Mount Rainier. They were thorough and helpful through-out the planning, even posing questions we didn't realize we had. During the event the staff showed EXTREME flexibility. Eight inches of rain fell on an outdoor wedding and reception with no indoor plan. Still it did not dampen the spirit of the occasion thanks in great part to the team that worked so hard that day. Delicious food, beautiful presentation, kind and helpful staff who went above and beyond, they were AMAZING!"
