Hello there! I'm Garret, as you've probably already figured out, and I love what I do. Photography has been a passion of mine for a long time, and being able to share that passion with people on the happiest day of their lives is the best experience I can imagine.

My goal on your wedding day is to tell the story of how the day progressed as precisely as possible. I like to let the day unfold instead of trying to control it too much. That's not to say I won't position you for portraits or family photos, but story telling is 95% of what I do. Vibrant, exciting color portraits and dramatic, contrasty black and white images are the cornerstones of my style, but I'm not afraid to try new things.

As a photographer first and a businessman way, way later, I'm always challenging myself to improve my work. You can be sure that I'm just as concerned with the quality of photos that I produce as you are.

How I cater to Offbeat Brides

I want your photos to be something that you are dying to show off. I want to help you get through your busy wedding day feeling like you have nothing to worry about (besides maybe the drunk groomsman who is nowhere to be found.) I love weddings that reflect the bride and groom's true personalities. It's your day, you should be able to set your own standards. The more unique the wedding, the better!

"They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but in reality, you're more likely to find that Garret's photos will render you speechless. We chose Garret to be our photographer for our Oct. 2016 wedding and to say that we were satisfied with his work would be a complete understatement. His ability to capture the most meaningful moments from our special day – while remaining entirely unobtrusive – was incredible. There were even some photos that we had no idea he took; from the moment when I was putting on my great grandmother's pearls (my "something borrowed" item which was very near & dear to me) to my parents holding hands during our ceremony. He truly has a gift, and some of his photos honestly took our breath away. The memories Garret captured for us have allowed us to enjoy our wedding day in more ways than we could have imagined, and we will continue to cherish them for years to come. And while his work speaks for itself, I can also assure you that he is a great guy to work with all-around, too. He's very responsive, puts everyone at ease with his relaxed, friendly demeanor, and is totally professional. I recommend choosing Garret if you want a creative photographer who will give you high-quality, stunning photos, but beyond that, you'll also find that your entire experience working with him will exceed expectations as well. –Jessica L.

"When my now husband and I first starting looking for a wedding photographer, we wanted to ensure three things: (1) Their portfolio was amazing, (2) They did not rely on the posed/forced shots we were finding everywhere, and (3) That they could put us at ease throughout the entire process. We were overjoyed when we first came across and later met Garret—who from the very beginning took note of what we wanted in our pictures and took the lead during our engagement shoot, planning the wedding schedule, and the actual day. Garret's professionalism and calm demeanor always made us feel like we were in great hands, and the final product from our wedding is absolutely breathtaking. Beyond the dramatic portraits (which were part of what made us interested in his portfolio in the first place), Garret took some of the most beautiful ceremony photos I have ever seen—and I'm not just saying that because I'm in them. The photos capture every emotion we felt that day, as well as several moments that we might have missed in the bustle of the reception. We are incredibly happy with choosing to work with Garret and if we had to do it all over again, we would not hesitate to book him." – Selby R.

Examples of my work

  • Jennifer and Greg hosted one of my favorite weddings in 2016. From a beautiful cozy venue, to fresh produce centerpieces, to snakes and tortoises at cocktail hour, this Offbeat wedding had it all!
  • Another Offbeat couple who I had the honor of working with this year was Ro and Garrett. Their wedding was so relaxed and so true to who they were, and those things lent themselves to quite an amazing day that yielded some of my favorite photos.
  • Since I can't post dozens of links like I'd like to, feel free to check out my favorite wedding photos of 2016!
